Why not introduce ourselves?
Nearly a year ago I met an amazing person on a rooftop bar in Jakarta. After taking a picture of his drunk friend who had passed out next to some truffle chips, we exchanged Instagram accounts and on Christmas Eve, he sent me the link to a wonderful personal blog, Cerita Vittoria.
His gesture was one of the most pure and wholesome I have ever experienced in my life, and it made this particular Christmas present probably the best one I have ever received. While I didn't really post anything on it, I have frequently thought about this blog of mine and that kind Indonesian guy. When I was finally ready to post something I saw that, unfortunately, the blog’s link wasn’t working anymore, hence I had to create a new blog. So here I am.
As this is my first post I think it should be more of an introduction to this blog and me.
First off, who am I? I’m Italian, currently 22 years old and currently a bit lost in this world. I graduated from Cardiff University a week ago in Journalism, Media and English Literature and I am now looking for masters to apply to, but it feels like every option is going to be the wrong one for what I want to do: fashion journalism. And because I’m lost, I have been saving up money to go on as many holidays as possible during this summer. Seems the right thing to do when you don’t know where your life is going, right?
And what can you find on this blog? If you know Indonesian, you’ll know that its name means the story of Vittoria, my story. Here I’ll post my thoughts on fashion, as this is my main area of interest, and my thoughts more in general about my life. My poetry maybe? And if I’ll have some more inspiration some short stories. Then you’ll also see (especially during my time off uni), posts about holidays or short weekends, kind of like a travel blog, I suppouse.
The thing is, I have studied how blogs should work. Blogs usually have a specific theme and they should stick to it most time. I also know how you should write an appealing blog post.I’ll try to follow the guidelines on how to write posts, for the most part, at least. I don’t think I’ll be able to follow them for poetry or posts about my life. But don’t expect this blog to be about only one thing. It will look more like a diary. Or an exercise book? Since I need to experiment and find my style of writing. I just hope you’ll enjoy it and that I’ll be constant in publishing new posts.
But once more, my Indonesian friend, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I definitely wouldn’t be here and I most definitely wouldn't have such a pretty name for my blog if it weren’t for you.
